The Z-Bolt® Bird-SPOT is built for extreme duty. Tested & certified for bird and human eye safety; water proof for operation in rain forests - rain, dew, & moisture resistant. The laser diode and battery compartment are protected by double o-ring seals; circuit board is encased (epoxy resin) in a protective collar to prevent damage by vibration, accidental dropping, etc. Water & dust proof; shock & vibration resistant; rugged & reliable. The Bird-Spot is constructed of high quality anodized aluminum and includes an IR filter and glass lens for superior laser performance. Special APC Circuit and IR Filter for Human AND Wildlife Eye Safety.
The Bird-SPOT includes our special APC control circuit and includes an IR filter for human and wildlife eye safety. This computerized APC diode drive circuit features "Automatic Power Control". The advanced circuit is based on a photo diode feedback loop. The photo diode monitors the optical output and provides a control signal for the laser diode, helping to maintain the diode operation at a constant optical output level. The circuit adds to the lifetime of the laser, prevents overheating, and provides overall power output stability & efficiency.
